Brucknerfest Linz 2007 "Klassisch anders"
"Klassisch anders" - with a uniquely different and refined take on classics, the program of the music festival is presented by international artists from September 16 - 30, 2007. The multi-faceted repertoire of the music festival in Linz spans traditional classical music, opera, organ and jazz performances.
As a novelty, this year's Bruckner Festival program also includes a jazz concert. The great jazz singer Sheila Jordan – the last living jazz diva of the Bebop era - performs together with the Roma Jazz Ensemble. Renown conductors at this year's Brucknerfest are Riccardo Chailly, Kent Nagano, Semyon Bychkov, Heinrich Schiff and Karen Kamensek. Internationally successful artists such as Martin Stadtfeld and Ilya Gringolts together with the Kodály-Quartett will represent the chamber music genre. "Die Götterdämmerung" (Twilight of the Gods), the last part of the The Ring of the Nibelung, is directed by Peter Schneider, and its internationally renown cast of musicians will surely please all opera lovers. The organ concerts with the curator Michael Giesen highlight another facet of the famous Upper Austrian composer Anton Bruckner. The organ competition which is organized in joint effort with the St. Florian monastery and a organ excursion together with the "sunnseitn" culture club complement the organ program of Brucknerfest.

Cultural contributions by Posthof, Ars Electronica, VEST Traun, Landestheater (national theater)
Two productions at Posthof, the multi-media spectacle "Yellow Hands" and "Bacon", a dance performance by Nanine Linning Company, complement the music festival in Linz. From September 5 - 11, Ars Electronica enriches the festival with this year's motto "Goodbye Privacy" - a new media-focused interpretation of the everyday way of life where everything is public and nothing seems to be private anymore. The participation of VEST Traun with the "Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz", a concert including a reading and documentary, and also the September schedule of the national theater add their own input to the multi-faceted cultural program in and around Linz in September.
