St. Florian Monastery Church

This venue has long been a source of fascination on the part of musicians and concertgoers alike. The Bruckner Organ - extraordinary due both to its 103 registers and its association with the Genius Loci - as well as Bruckner’s grave in the monastery church’s crypt engender a very special atmosphere for performances during the Brucknerfest. This magnificent edifice of the Austrian Congregation of the Canons Regular of St. Augustine is well worth a visit any time of year.

Driving Directions

From the Brucknerhaus, take the A7 expressway (towards Wien); continue on the A1 expressway (towards Wien) and exit at Asten/St.Florian; continue on the main road for 3 km to the town of St. Florian, where you’ll see a green “Stift St. Florian” sign that directs you to the parking lot. Total trip length from the Brucknerhaus Linz to the St. Florian Monastery parking lot: 27 km
