The new concert organ of the Linz Brucknerhaus, with its symphonic range of colour, is virtually predestined for the high art of improvisation. The Brucknerhaus has now for the first time dedicated an international competition to this supreme discipline of organ music. The conditions of application are described here:

We are looking for young organists up to the age of 35 with an independent musical language. The candidates are not required to improvise in historical styles, but to demonstrate versatility and originality in improvisations based on given images, texts and musical themes.
The submission of the improvisations on CD, on other data carriers or online (uncut [!] recordings, a division into two files is possible) must be sent by post by 8th February 2021 at the latest to
