The LIVA

We create opportunities and bring people together through moments that last.

The Linz Event Organisation (LIVA) is one of Austria’s leading cultural and sporting institutions. For more than five decades, it has been creating spaces for extraordinary experiences, inspiring encounters and community spirit on behalf of the City of Linz. Through its venues, festivals and sports facilities, it offers experiences that extend far beyond the borders of Upper Austria and bring together people of all generations and interests.

LIVA brings together the internationally renowned Brucknerhaus Linz, the Posthof – Zeitkultur am Hafen, the KuddelMuddel Children’s Cultural Centre, the TipsArena and the LIVA Sportparks. Together, they stand for the highest quality, artistic diversity and a passion for sport – ranging from classical music, contemporary culture, pop, jazz and literature to international sporting events and activities for the general public.

Through events such as the Brucknerfest Linz, the Klangwolken, the Ahoi! Pop Festival and the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon, LIVA has a lasting impact on the city’s cultural and social life and raises Linz’s profile as a city of culture and sport far beyond Austria’s borders.

In this regard, LIVA sees itself not only as an organiser, but also as a driving force for an open urban society. It promotes excellence in the arts and sport as well as young talent, provides people of all ages with access to culture and physical activity, and creates spaces where people can come together, be creative and share experiences.

Brucknerhaus Linz

A home for music. A place where people come together. A landmark on the Danube.

Situated directly on the banks of the Danube, nestled within the extensive Donaupark and just a few steps from Linz city centre, the Brucknerhaus Linz ranks among Europe’s most significant concert halls. Its timeless architecture, exceptional acoustics and an artistic programme of the highest calibre have made it an unmistakable venue for music ever since its opening in 1974.

The building was designed by the Finnish architects Heikki and Kaija Siren, whose clean, Scandinavian-inspired architectural style continues to define the venue’s distinctive atmosphere to this day. The harmonious blend of architecture, landscape and music gives the Brucknerhaus its unique identity.

Opened by the Vienna Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan, the venue has become an international hub for classical music. World-famous orchestras, outstanding conductors, and renowned soloists and ensembles have shaped the concert scene here for decades.

As the artistic heart of the Brucknerfest Linz, the Brucknerhaus combines a rich musical tradition with innovative concert formats and fresh artistic perspectives. At the same time, it sees itself as a venue open to everyone: alongside its internationally acclaimed classical programme, the season is enriched by jazz, world music, literature, music education and numerous events for children, young people and families. Guest performances featuring musicals, dance, cabaret and entertainment further expand the diverse programme.

With the BRUCKNER'S restaurant and its terrace overlooking the Danube, a visit to a concert becomes a truly special experience.

Discover culture. Unleash your imagination. Grow together.

Children are curious, creative and open to new experiences. Since 1990, the Kuddelmuddel Children’s Cultural Centre has been creating spaces where young people can experience, discover and shape culture for themselves.

With theatre, puppet theatre, concerts, dance, readings and interactive programmes, the Kuddelmuddel is one of the most important institutions for cultural education in Upper Austria. Workshops and projects encourage children to get creative themselves and to experience art with all their senses.

Partnerships with nurseries, schools and social institutions provide many young people with easy access to culture. Together with the Theater des Kindes and the Linz Puppet Theatre, Kuddelmuddel forms a vibrant hub for young audiences in Linz city centre.
